Caltanissetta

The city of Caltanissetta is located in a prominent position dominating the entire valley of the Salso, which extends to include the nearby Enna. Morphologically it perfectly reproduces the characteristics of the surrounding territory, very sour and of calcareous-clay composition. The city stands between three hills (Sant'Anna, Mount San Giuliano and Poggio Sant'Elia) which, arranged in an arch, form a basin within which the part of the historic center and all the southern districts develop.
